Whew! Last week flew by.
The kiddos did a great job with all the activities for Brown Bear last week. We will continue this week with one of my favorite authors, Eric Carle, and read The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
To begin the week, we will talk about patterns by creating our own patterned caterpillar. We will also continue working with number recognition. As a group we will discuss the life cycle of a butterfly and learn a new vocabulary word: cocoon. We will also learn a new poem called "5 Little Caterpillars". In small groups we will start working on our prewriting strokes and letter recognition.
A few reminders:
- No School on Labor Day, September 1!
- Pictures are on Sept. 18 and 19.
- Scholastic orders need to be made by this Friday. By ordering books online we earn points for classroom books! :)
- Homecoming Parade is September 26!
I have been taking lots of pictures in class. I hope to have them up on the Blog soon.... I just need to figure out how! :)
