I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday. I had a great time with my family and, of course, shopping!
You may have heard the news.... we have an Elf on the Shelf, Snowflake (AM) and Chippy (PM)!
He will be with us until Winter Break. Each night after school he flies home to the North Pole and gives Santa a report on the children's behavior. While here Snowflake/Chippy will be getting into some mischief as well..... today he made a swing and was swinging from the ceiling! There is one BIG rule that we must follow in order to keep our elf in class... we cannot touch him or he will lose his magic. It's already been so much fun and the kids just love him!
This week we will be talking about a bunch of different Winter items. We will be working with sequencing by putting the snowman events in order and putting buttons onto the snowmen will increase 1:1 correspondence knowledge. During Work Time your child will have the opportunity to create an assortment of snowmen using felt, buttons, ribbon, and twigs. We will also be learning a new song this week-
Once There was a Snowman
Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman
Once there was a snowman
Tall, tall, tall
In the sun he melted, melted, melted
In the sun he melted
Small, Small, Small
Important Information:
-- This week is the Book Fair! If you have not yet had a chance, stop by sometime before Friday!
Making a Connection:
We will soon be discussing the different holidays that are celebrated in December. If your family celebrates holidays other than Christmas I would love for you to share this with your child's class. If you are interested please e-mail me! kdatzman@brownsburg.k12.in.us
