Thanksgiving Break

Just a short week this week!

The kiddos really caught on to the lesson of last week. I was very excited and I hope that they shared with you some of the things that they were thankful for. We also had wonderful fall parties! Thank you to all the parents that stepped in to help. The kids really enjoyed themselves!

This week we will finish up data collection - round 2 of letter identification. We will also be learning about the first Thanksgiving by making our very own Thanksgiving bracelet. Your student will be increasing their color recognition, direction following, and their fine motor skills with this activity. We will also be working more with numbers and turn taking! We will be singing a song called Thanksgiving Feast and create a chart of our favorite Thanksgiving foods. Your child will be making predictions about a book called Turkey Train, as well and discuss words that rhyme! We can't forget about our group game called Turkey in a Bag. The kiddos draw a card from the bag. If they draw a letter they identify the letter and/or the sound it makes. If they draw the turkey we all say (by "say" I mean we all yell) GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE!

Reminders:
- Don't forget that we have one more week to sell Butter Braids. I am hitting up my family over Thanksgiving! Orders and money are due Dec 1. They will be available for pick up on Dec. 15 from 4-6:30. If you need another order form or more information please feel free to e-mail me!
- We are currently in 3rd place for the second Box Top competition! Keep collecting! :)

Making a Connection:
Does your child seem to use the "W-sit" often? Here is a link for the OT/PT Blog that can give you some information to help your child with this.
