August 24-28

Good Morning!

After some technical difficulties last night, I am going to try to post this one more time! :)

We will be finishing up our first round of counting data collection this week and begin round two! Again, this is a skill that can easily be worked on at home and can be made fun!

This week we will also begin by working on identifying and charting letters and numbers. The kiddos will work in their groups to identify which is a letter or number and glue it to the corresponding side of the T-Chart! We will also work with buttons and making a pattern. This activity will introduce our prewriting strokes and concentrate on fine motor development! These prewriting strokes are the building blocks to early writing skills!
l "Zip"
- "Zoom"
\ "Down the slide"
/ "Down the slide"
O "Around and stop"
+ "Zip and Zoom"
X "Down the slide, pick up and down the slide again"

Last week I introduced the Action Alphabet song! The kids caught on so quickly and  I noticed that they seemed to really enjoy the song. SO... we added four more letter last week. Today (Tuesday) we will add FOUR more, bringing us to the letter "L"! I was very please to see the amount of participation that was shown for this song! Who knew learning letters and letter sounds could be so much fun?! :) I am working on a "lyrics" page to send home!

I hope you have a wonderful week!
