We are off to a great start here at the BECC!
We will continue familiarizing ourselves with the daily routine, rules, and areas of the classroom this week. All the kiddos are really getting the hang of things already! I'm so excited for this school year and cannot wait to see all the progress that we can make!
Last Friday AM we had a fire drill AND a lockdown drill. As hectic as it was, the kiddos did GREAT! I was so very proud of everyone :) During a lockdown drill all lights are turned off and our classroom door is locked and closed. We all squeeze into the bathroom and usually read a book or do another quiet activity. For the Fire Drills I try to express the importance of listening to the directions and staying with the class on the rope as we walk down the sidewalk and stand in front of central office.
A few housekeeping items:
- I will try my hardest to update you with a blog post each week by Monday. I have to admit that sometimes Mondays just sneak by and I miss my "deadline". As always if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to email me! I will also try to post pictures here as well. I may not get everyone each time, but I will try to cover everyone over time! :)
- If you have not already turned in all of your enrollment information, please be sure that this makes its way to school!
- Your child should now have a folder in their backpack. I will use this folder to transport papers to and from school! I will not always send things home, but when I do this is how they will get home in one piece (hopefully)!
- Also, please be sure your child has a standard sized backpack!
- When sending in payments please be sure to put them in a labeled envelope so that I can be sure to get them where they need to go!
- If you have not done so already, please be sure that you have sent in an extra change of clothes for your child. Although this may not feel necessary, I do no have spare clothes in my room. In case of an accident, spill. etc. it is always helpful to have something available!
